Preliminary Task Magazine Evaluation Questions

1. Who did you work with and how did you manage the task between you?
I worked with Josh on this task to create a magazine cover.

2. How did you plan your cover and contents page? What magazines did you use for your inspiration?
We planned our cover to have a question of the day with a large picture of someone relating to the question of the day. We then planned having other little article headings scattered around the sides of the cover.

3. What technology did you use to complete the task, and how did you use it?
we used a camera to picture the boy. we then used a computer programme called photoshop to edit and add other things.

4. What factors did you have to take into account when planning, shooting and editing?
we had to make sure the camera shot was a mid-shot showing the persons body and head but not legs. we also had to make sure the picture was suitable for the cover of a magazine

5. Which magazines conventions does the magazine follow?
We stuck to the 3 font colour rule and the 3 font style rule.

6. Which does it break?
i dont believe it breaks any

7. Who is your target audience and how does the layout/images/fonts/colour pallate/cover lines appeal to them?
our Target Audience is non limited, its suitable for a school which was our theme. we used colours to suit both genders like yellow's and blue and green.

8. Does the magazine appeal to new or regular readers – how do you know?

9. How successful was your magazine cover? Identify what worked well, and with hindsight, what would you improve/do differently?
I thought our idea of the question on the front relation to the picture was unique. i believe having a question on the front would make the readers want to find out the answer.

10. What have you learnt about producing a magazine front cover and contents page? Looking ahead, how will this learning be significant when completing the rest of your foundation coursework? I now know using the 3 font/colour rule is better as it doesn't take all eyes of the magazine, as if it was too colourful it would look non-professional. i also feel if taking a picture of somebody for a magazine a mid-shot would suit best
